Casa dos Curumins

More Opportunities for Children in Brazil

Since the founding of the Casa dos Curumins project in 2005, we have been committed to supporting disadvantaged children and young people in São Paulo, Brazil. This project is far more than just a donation initiative for us – it is a true matter of the heart.

Casa dos Curumins provides around 600 children and young people in the Pedreira district with a protected environment where they are cared for and supported. Here, they receive not only social support but also access to education as well as musical and artistic development. The goal is to open new perspectives for their future and prepare them for independent lives. Particularly important is the teaching of values such as respect, responsibility, and community, which will help them find their own path in the long run.

Our support has already made concrete changes possible. For example, we have enabled childcare for children aged four to five, who otherwise would not have access to care. Additionally, we have contributed to necessary purchases such as furniture and a protective roof for the facility.

However, our commitment goes beyond financial aid. We maintain a close and valuable relationship with the project and actively contribute to its further development with enthusiasm.

We are proud to support Casa dos Curumins in the long term and, together with our partners and employees, to contribute to a better future for disadvantaged children and young people in Brazil.

Volunteering in Brazil

Chiara’s Moving Experience at Casa dos Curumins

Social commitment can change the world – not only for those who receive support but also for those who help. Chiara took on this responsibility and spent a month as a volunteer at Casa dos Curumins in Brazil. Her experience left a lasting impression.

Chiara had long known that she wanted to be socially engaged. "Volunteering is deeply rooted in my family, and I knew I wanted to have this kind of experience," she says. The well-being of children is particularly close to her heart, which is why she chose Casa dos Curumins – an organization that provides children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the favelas of São Paulo with a safe environment, education, and meals.

During her stay, there were no fixed tasks. "It was mainly about accompanying the children, spending time with them, and giving them attention." Whether through artistic activities, music, or simple conversations – Chiara and her fellow volunteers were an important source of support for the children. "They asked us so many questions about our world – it was incredibly moving."

What touched Chiara the most was realizing how essential the project is for the children. "On Mondays, they always ate much more than on other days. That really hit me because it showed me that they often didn't have enough to eat over the weekend." The issue of violence in the favela also weighed on her. "These children experience terrible things every day, but they don't let it break them. They seek love, security, and attention – just like any other children in the world."

After her return, Chiara gained a new perspective on social responsibility. "We all know that poverty exists. But when you experience it firsthand, you truly understand what it means." The experience reinforced her determination to support projects that bring about long-term change.

"Everyone can help – whether with time, donations, or simply by raising awareness of social issues. I can only encourage everyone to get involved. It changes not only the lives of those you help but also your own."

Chiara’s story impressively demonstrates how important voluntary work is – and that everyone can contribute to making the world a better place.
