My Experience with E-Mobility in Field Service

In everyday work, not only our customers but also our team benefits from the electrification of the vehicle fleet. Dietmar Schaupp, Service Technician at Poly-clip System Vertriebs- und Service GmbH, shares his personal experiences with his new electric vehicle:

"Switching to an electric vehicle was an exciting change. As a trained agricultural machinery mechanic, I was enthusiastic about combustion engines for years. But I was particularly drawn to innovative e-mobility: fewer mechanical parts and a quiet, comfortable driving experience. Driving simply feels like the future.

The transition to e-mobility was well-executed – no pressure, just the opportunity to switch voluntarily. This gave me time to decide if an electric vehicle was the right fit for me. The process was smooth and well-thought-out.

Of course, there were initial challenges, such as the sometimes suboptimal charging infrastructure, and I had to plan my routes more carefully. It would be convenient to charge directly at the customer’s location, but such situations were manageable. I use charging breaks effectively – whether for ordering spare parts or taking a short lunch break.

The advantages clearly outweigh the challenges: less maintenance effort, affordable home charging, and the great feeling of driving CO2-free.

What makes me especially proud is the positive feedback from my customers. Many are curious and ask questions about the e-vehicle. It’s a great feeling to be part of this change and to take the right step towards sustainability – for our company and the environment."
